HBOT Frequently Asked Questions
What to expect during HBOT?
Majority of the people who undergo HBOT say that it is the same thing as flying on an airplane. Your ears have to be clear in order for you to feel relaxed. Once the chamber has reached the ideal pressure and your body and ears are adjusted, you will have no trouble at all.
For those who go to a portable chamber with room air, you can use your computer or iPod. You also can have covers, and cushions. Larger chambers make it so you can sit, exercise, move around, or go to sleep. Smaller chambers allow you to lay down and do things such as watch television or enjoy a good book.
What is the standard treatment protocol?
Most doctors suggest an initial forty sessions, which amounts to, one to two sessions per day for sixty to ninety minutes, five to seven days per week. After you have finished the sessions, you will take a two to four week break and continue with another set of forty sessions. For chronic conditions, people find doing hundreds of sessions over the years is ideal. This varies for individuals, so your doctor is the one to provide you with an accurate answer for your unique situation.
